I had only heard so much about this text before. For all I thought, it was just a step-by-step book. But even at first glance of the table of contents, it was much more than just a simple how-to. The introduction alone is a lot to take in. It gives us a glimpse of what anarchy is to the preface author. I would say it’s a pretty good introduction, in means of I think a summary. It talks a lot about nihilism which is the same as anarchism, according to the author. But to me, nihilism is the complete opposite of anarchism. Nihilism is saying life is meaningless pretty much, but anarchism is fighting for the right to do what you want pretty much, meaning there is meaning behind life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don’t really know what I expected, but this was not it. As college students, I think some people may use the information harmfully. But I really hope not. It’s a lot of recipes for disaster and illegal things. I again just really don’t know what to take from this text at all. There’s a whole chapter of the book dedicated to drugs and recipes that include drugs. He was also 19 when he wrote this. He was very opinionated about this stuff, but I feel like he was highly educated on this stuff. But it’s said that he wrote this simply to release his inner outrage in Vietnam. Later on, he felt remorseful about publishing the book and even tried to have it removed. Throughout the book, we can see how much he ‘cares’ for the reader. He says if you’re not prepared to do this, just be careful, or just don’t do this at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think it’s crazy that this wasn’t taken that seriously back then, like yes the FBI was trying to get this banned and out of society’s reach. But I feel like nowadays this would be taken a lot seriously, I feel like he would’ve been arrested or ‘cancelled’ if this were go be published today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
